Elkhart Lake, WI (25 April 2012)- The URA Tool Motorsports 1990 Ford Taurus SHO team finished their second Chump Car event with a pair of sixth place finishes at Chump Car’s "The Great American Meltdown" at Road America on April 21 and 22. On Saturday, the team drove 490 miles en route to a sixth place finish out of the 47 teams entered. On Sunday, the team drove 510 miles to a second sixth place finish of the weekend. Team members include; Mike Kennedy, Bill Turney, Gary Hammann, Nic Hammann, and Brian Hammann

“The Ford Taurus SHO was great; we didn’t open the hood all weekend. This is an amazing feat, considering the car has over 242,000 miles on the odometer. We are extremely happy with our finishing positions,” said Brian Hammann. Brian has been the sole owner of the Ford Taurus SHO since it was new. According to Brian, “The engine and transmission have never been touched; it’s a testament to how long a vehicle will last when regular maintenance intervals are followed.”

“We decided to take care of the SHO with consistent lap times, and it paid off,” said Kennedy. “The SHO is very easy to drive at speed even though we are still learning the car, especially its braking ability,” added Gary Hammann.

URA Tool Motorsports would like to thank Cal & Gus Motors in Elkhart Lake, Wisc., and B&B Ford in Sheboygan Falls, Wisc., for all their support.
