Overview of the week:

Sunday : July 26, 2009
Pre-Convention dinner.  A tradition now with more and more people coming in a day early to clean their cars, and watch more arrivals on Monday.

Monday: July 27, 2009
Registration day at the host hotel as cars arrive, and people meet up with old friends to tour the area.  We will have driving tours and suggestions for you to visit in the Nashua area.  There is plenty of shopping, fun places for kids and adults alike.  We are working on a washing area if you want to clean up your car.

The Reception will be at the host hotel followed by dinner out at a restaurant, we may have a few door prizes!

Golf with Ron Porter and friends! This will probably be the only day for golf, for those that partake.  Contact Ron for details.

Tuesday: July 28, 2009

The annual Car SHOw helps get the convention going right with everyone appreciating all of these 4 door sedans that we continue to drive everyday in some cases! We will have the SHOw at the host hotel.  The Car SHOw usually runs from 7 or 8am to about Noon.  There will be great looking and super clean SHO's everywhere; even the "Road Warriors" Class for cars that are not in the show for judging contains cars with lots of history displayed with a description of what made them special cars. This is the best day to really see the cars at their best and relax before two intense days of using the cars to their fullest.

Tuesday evening is then concluded with the traditional impromptu gathering in the hotel parking lot for conversation!

Wednesday: July 29, 2009

The mid-week track day is always a SHO Enthusiasts favorite. We will be doing Driver Education and lapping at the ever popular New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  We are joining up with the local Northeast SHO Club & SVT enthusiasts to insure a full track and keep costs down.  They are also running the event so the organizers and all OUR people can just relax and enjoy the day!

FORD RACING PROMO - Interested in joining us for the track day at NHMS? We do have space available, just fill out the registration form and write TRACK ONLY in the Registration Fee area and pay just the track fee! Have any questions? Contact us at 309-444-8570. Note: Track only entries will not receive the full convention packet or details to our other events over the week, but will still need to fill out the tech and driver information forms.

On the drive home from our track day we will stop at a great local restaurant.

IMPORTANT SAFETY EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
Please note that for the track event, you MUST have a Snell 2000 or newer helmet, but we can accept either SA (automobile) or M (Motorcycle) helmets. Also note that some autocross type seat belt systems will NOT be allowed. But stock seat belts and any SCCA legal 5 or 6 point system is legal. (NOTE: many clubs do NOT allow "M" Motorcycle helmets, so if you are buying a new helmet, we recommend you get the newest SNELL rating (2010 I think) and an SA helmet for automobile use.)

For glasses, shatterproof reading glasses or sunglasses are OK, or a helmet with a full face shield. OR you can use shatterproof goggles or even factory style safety glasses.

Of course long cotton or nomex pants, full shoes (no sandals or open toe shoes) and long sleeve cotton shirt or nomex shirt/jacket are required.

Thursday: July 30, 2009

We have a location in the works for an Autocross in conjunction with NESHOC possibly, more information is in the works. Unfortuantely due to unforeseen cost increases, we are having to cancel the autocross, but we have PLENTY of extra sites to see and do in the New Hampshire area to fill in the time! Those who have signed up and paid for the autocross will receive a refund.

Our Duck Boat Tour of downtown Boston begins on Thursday morning, currently we have filled all seats filled for both boats! The first boat leaves at 10AM while the second boat leaves at 11:05 AM. Each seat is a flat $30, while . If you are unsure of your car number, then please email me at webmaster@shoclub.com. A sign-up sheet will be available at Registration where you can put your name(s) down for seats on each boats time slot on a first come first serve basis.

The Banquet Thursday night is the conclusion to the convention, and is usually placed at the host hotel. The Banquet is host to our main fundraising event to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, NOTE: due to flooding in the midwest, and other problems in the US, we may switch back to the American Red Cross, National Disaster Relief Fund for this year..  Door prizes, Charity Auction, trophy presentations and more make this a night not to be missed.

After the Banquet, the parking lot usually comes alive with talk and refreshments (!) as people unwind and get in more SHO stories before heading to homes all across the US and Canada.

Friday: July 31, 2009
This was not an official convention day, but many people have been known to stay an extra day or two to see more of the sites.  We will make several good suggestions for family and individual fun sites to visit.
